Friends Meetings

Members of the Friends Of The Library meet every month. Upcoming meeting dates and locations are:

February 2nd @ 6:30 pm - Millersburg Library
March 2nd @ 6:30 pm - Millersburg Library
April 6th @ 6:30 pm - Berlin Library

“Friends” and the general public are welcome and encouraged to join us at these meetings. Check the library calendar or the “Meetings” section of the Bargain Hunter for location.

A typical meeting includes a reading of the minutes of the previous meeting, a treasurer’s report, an update of old/and/or pending business, a discussion of new business and decisions regarding next month’s meeting site.
Holding our meetings on a rotating basis among the five locations also helps “Friends” assess the needs of each location.

Tabletop Christmas Tree and Wreath Silent Auction

Creative People Alert!

The Friends of the Holmes County Library are asking folks to trim a tabletop Christmas tree or a decorated wreath (new this year) and donate it or them to our silent auction.

Pick any theme and create a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree or wreath for some lucky buyer!

The theme and decorations are your choice but we are asking people to keep the trees between 6 inches and 24 inches tall and the wreaths between 6 inches and 20 inches in circumference. You can put lights on them or not—whatever you want to do! There will be a group decorating get-together in the Main Library’s meeting room on Saturday, November 14th from 10 am to 12 noon. Trees will be available to purchase and some décor to choose from or bring your own. You can also choose to decorate yours at home, whatever sounds best to you.

Please bring the completed trees and wreaths into the library beginning November 23rd through the 27th. The auction begins on December 1st and ends December 15th at 7pm.

Winners will be called on Wednesday, December 16th. Be sure to come in and make a bid on your favorite tree, wreath or both!

Book Sale Information - NOTE Time Change!

November 5: (12 p.m. to 7 p.m.)

November 7: (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Special "Bag" sales



 This will be the 5th annual book sale provided by members of the “Friends Of The Library,” and the group’s major fund raiser. “Friends” donate, collect, arrange, display, and staff this effort and welcome volunteers and “Members” who are able to help make it an even greater success!
The sale area encompasses the entire meeting/classroom area in the Library’s lower level.

"Bag specials" will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the afternoon of November 8, providing great discounts.

Bake Sales

“Friends of the Library” plan one or two bake sales annually to help finance projects that support some of the needs of each of the four branches and the main library. The sales also are important to us as a way to introduce people to the “Friends.” We welcome volunteers who can help with these and other projects.
